Project of 7 mountain cottages in Kowary Podgórze

The buildings will be topped with symmetrical, steeply pitched roofs covered with wooden shingles. Wood will also be used for vertical planks on the facades, with the gables highlighted by smaller, narrow boards creating additional vertical shading—details commonly seen in Podgórze. The bases will be made of stone, further emphasizing the natural character of the development.

The functional and spatial layouts of the buildings include entry zones with bathrooms, living rooms (salons) with kitchenettes, and additional bedrooms. The buildings also feature terraces in the form of loggias. Wide glazing with loggias integrated into the building volumes serves to showcase the scenic views of the surrounding mountains.

The directions of the view openings and the main axes of the building volumes differ by a few degrees, allowing for a loose arrangement. Each "viewframe" has been individually tailored to the location of each building. The perception of the buildings changes depending on the vantage point: from the descent from Podgórze, the roofs will be most visible, while from the descent towards Kowary, the wide glass facades on the gable elevations will be prominent.

The steeply pitched roofs will be covered with wooden shingles, maintaining the natural gray-brown color of the wood, which will change over time. Depending on the type, the buildings will be set on slabs or strip foundations. With minimal impact on the terrain, the existing low native vegetation is planned to be preserved, and the natural runoff of rainwater and meltwater will remain unobstructed.

Our project combines modernity with respect for tradition and nature. The complex in Podgórze is a place where architecture meets the beauty of the surrounding landscape, creating a harmonious and functional space. Despite the contemporary simplicity of the volumes, their scale, character, architectural form, and natural finishing materials strongly reference the traditional regional architecture of the Rudawy Landscape Park area.

A cluster of seven buildings will be constructed between Podgórze Road and a picturesque waterway. The layout of the buildings, adapted to the natural slopes of the land, has been designed so that each one opens up to views of the surrounding mountains. The buildings are arranged in a loose layout inspired by rock formations.
